Training Information

A brief overview of the different training offered by the 3rd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment.
 

Entry Level Training

Required training for all new joins prior to being assigned to a squad and platoon.

One Station Unit Training (OSUT)
One Station Unit Training (OSUT) is an overview of unit policies and procedures along with an introduction to Advanced Combat Environment (ACE3) medical and controls and Task Force Arrowhead Radio (TFAR). It's the first time Recruits load into an official training and become acclimated to the unit and what is expected from them. Unit keybinds and load-outs are also given out at this time.

This training is taught by Basic Combat Training Instructors.

Ranger Assessment and Selection Program (RASP)
Ranger Assessment and Selection Program is our main combat training Privates receive before being assigned to the unit. The training covers fireteam and squad formations, weapons and grenades, Military Operations in Urban Terrain (MOUT) and Close Quarters Battle (CQB) along with anti-tank launcher procedures. Proper vehicle formations and convoy procedure is also taught and reviewed.

This training is taught by Ranger Assessment and Selection Program Instructor.

 

Qualifications

All qualifications are open and available to all soldiers excluding Military Freefall Qualification which requires an Airborne Badge.

Combat Lifesaver Qualification
The Combat Lifesaver Qualification (CLS) trains soldiers to be proficient in ACE3 medical and allows them to better respond to mass casualty situations. The Combat Lifesaver Qualification grants soldiers the ability to carry Auto-injectors.

This qualification is taught by Medical Instructors.

Designated Marksman Qualification
The Designated Marksman Qualification trains soldiers to be able to take the Squad Designated Marksman role. The Designated Marksman Qualification grants soldiers the ability to carry a Designated Marksman Rifle and use high powered optics.

This qualification is taught by Additional School Instructors.

Explosives Qualification
The Explosives Qualification trains soldiers to be able to employ demolitions, disarm explosives and use breaching charges. The Explosives Qualification grants soldiers the ability to carry explosives, breaching charges and a defusal kit.

This qualification is taught by Additional School Instructors.

Awards the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Badge.

Communications Qualification
The Communications Qualification trains soldiers in the ability to use the Blue Force Tracker, Satellite, proper voice procedure and UAVs. The Communications Qualification grants soldiers the ability to carry a Combat Tablet (cTab) Blue Force Tracker.

This qualification is taught by Additional School Instructors.

Land Navigation Qualification
The Land Navigation Qualification trains soldiers to plot 8 digit grid points, use the baseplate compass and learn the major, minor and supplementary terrain features. The Land Navigation Qualification does not grant any special equipment.

This qualification is taught by Additional School Instructors.

Machine Gunner Qualification
The Machine Gunner Qualification trains soldiers to be able to properly deploy medium and general purpose machine guns in accordance with machine gun theory. The Machine Gunner Qualification allows the soldier to use squad automatic weapons.

This qualification is taught by Additional School Instructors.

Military Freefall Qualification
The Military Freefall Qualification trains soldiers in both methods of High-altitude military parachuting: HALO (high altitude – low opening) and HAHO (high altitude – high opening). The Military Freefall Qualification grants soldiers the ability to carry an altimeter watch.

This qualification is taught by Additional School Instructors.

Awards the Military Freefall Parachutist Badge.

 

Schools

All schools are open and available to all soldiers excluding Pathfinder School which requires Military Free Fall and Land Navigation Qualifications. Schools are longer in length compared to qualifications and always utilize a live fire Field Exercise.

Air Assault School
Air Assault School trains soldiers to be able proficient in helicopter operations which include both landing and repelling as methods of insertion. Helicopter resupply, considerations and limitations are also taught. Air Assault School finishes with a live fire Field Exercise.

This school is taught by Air Assault Instructors.

Awards the Air Assault Badge.

Airborne School
Airborne School trains soldiers to be able proficient in static line parachute operations. Airborne resupply, considerations and limitations are also taught. Airborne School finishes with a live fire Field Exercise.

This school is taught by Airborne Instructors.

Awards the Airborne Badge.

Pathfinder School
Pathfinder School trains soldiers to be experts in battlefield reconnaissance, small unit tactics and placement of landing zones and drop zones. The Pathfinder Badge grants soldiers the ability to carry higher end equipment (check sign boards for most up to date information). Pathfinder School finishes with a live fire Field Exercise.

This school is taught by the Operations Officer and Operations Chief.

Ranger School
Ranger School is a peer evaluated series of different Field Exercises where all billets and positions are available to everyone regardless of rank. No two Ranger Schools are alike and the details of each Field Exercises are kept hidden until after roles are assigned. Soldiers will have a different role or be assigned to a different group during each Field Exercise. At the end of the school, every soldier gives one GO to their peers in leadership for valid reasons. The top performing soldiers with the most GO’s received their tabs (normally three to five tabs are awarded). The Ranger Tab grants soldiers the ability to carry higher end equipment (check sign boards for most up to date information).

This school is taught by the officers of the 3rd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment.

Leadership Training

While officially all leadership training is available to all soldiers, instructors reserve slots, times, and frequency of classes based on leaders who need the course or to be considered for promotion.

Basic Leader Course
Basic Leader Course (BLC) trains soldiers to perform as a fireteam leader and non-commissioned officer. The course goes over expectations, roles and duties of a leader. Unit specific policies, award procedure and disciplinary procedure are also reviewed. This course is taught entirely out of game.

This course is taught by staff non-commissioned officers of the 3rd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment.

Advanced Leader Course
Advanced Leader Course (ALC) trains soldiers already established as leaders within the unit. The course teaches advanced doctrine of attacking, defending and terrain negotiation for with an emphasis on the rifle squad. Soldiers will be given the opportunity to lead squads under the supervision of instructors. This course is taught entirely in-game and requires Basic Leader Course (BLC).

This course is taught by staff non-commissioned officers of the 3rd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment.

Officer Candidate School
Officer Candidate School (OCS) trains soldiers to take on higher echelon of command at the platoon level. The course teaches mission development through zeus, unit administration, and doctrine through the platoon level. This course is taught entirely in-game and requires both Basic Leader Course (BLC) and Advanced Leader Course (ALC).

This school is taught by officers of the 3rd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment.

 

Military Occupational Specialties

Selection for military occupational specialties prior to training requires approval from both the soldiers immediate supervisor and desired MOS's supervisor.

68W Combat Medic Specialist
Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) 68W Combat Medic Specialist is the qualifying MOS for squad, platoon and company level medics. Like all qualifying MOS's the selection is done through a written and practical portion with a high standard for excellence. This course is taught entirely in-game and requires the Combat Lifesaver Qualification.

This military occupational specialty is taught by Medical Instructors.

1C471 Tactical Air Party Controller
Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) 1C471 Tactical Air Party Controller (TACP) is the qualifying MOS for company level Joint Terminal Attack Controllers (JTAC). Like all qualifying MOS's the selection is done through a written and practical portion with a high standard for excellence. This course is taught entirely in-game and requires the Forward Observer Qualification.

This military occupational specialty is taught by TACP Instructors.

153A Rotary Wing Aviator
Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) 153A Rotary Wing Aviator  is the qualifying MOS for the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (Airborne). Like all qualifying MOS's the selection is done through a written and practical portion with a high standard for excellence. This course is taught entirely in-game.

This military occupational specialty is taught by Flight Instructors.
