For our purposes Basic Training consists of two separate phases: Ranger Assessment and Selection Program, and Basic Airborne School.

Ranger Assessment and Selection Program (RASP)
Ranger Assessment and Selection Program is a four day cycle. Each “day” consists of a 1.5-2 hour session, and must be completed in order. These classes will be hosted on a weekly basis and if a day is missed, it can be made up in another class or the student can wait to continue with the next cycle. Upon graduation after Day 4, students will be allowed to choose a billet and be given instructions for reporting into and requesting that billet assignment.

Basic Airborne School (BAS)
All new candidates going 11B, 11C, 25C, 69W and 153A, Airborne School is part of your pipeline after RASP. This will teach candidates not only the skills required of fast roping and static-line parachuting itself, but the techniques required to exit the aircraft in a timely manner so that a stick or chalk stays together. BAS is the last formal entry level training required to apply to become a pilot, so if that is your goal then you do not need to complete any further training if there is an aviation opening, and you must now find an Flight Instructor to receive your next assignment.

Combat Medical School (CMS)
Upon completion on RASP all members entering the 68W Occupational Field will enter the Combat Medical School (CMS) after RASP. Here, they will take part in a one day course over the span of one week designed to teach new 68Ws the basics of casualty care.

Should any new members join the unit and bring with them two or more friends, that complete RASP, we will allow one of the group members to be authorized a meritorious promotion to the rank of Private First Class. The group members must decide who among them shall receive this meritorious promotion. Should the members not agree then no meritorious promotion shall be authorized. This promotion does not come with a guarantee of a leadership billet. Additionally,  If six or more members of a group complete RASP, one of the members is authorized meritorious Specialist and one member meritorious Private First Class with the same guidelines of selection as above. No other meritorious promotions are authorized.

Attendance is paramount to the success of this organization and we want to encourage you to take the initiative and get involved using your skills. Ask your NCO about opportunities with the S-Shops if you want to step up and get more involved, however, simply showing up is more than enough! Thank you for applying to be selected as a 3-75RR Candidate, and welcome to the community!
